I see on the website that the ram on the Pacarana is optionally upgradable to 8 gigabytes.

Will it be possible to upgrade the ram on units from a couple years ago too?

I think it is,
I asked SS some time ago and they said yes, but it is something that has to be done by them ! (there is some reprogramming needed)
Now for me lIIving in Europe, it's not the easiest thing.
Sending it to the states and back probably costs twice as much as the ram update...

Hopefully i'l find a way, i think it will improve a lot the performance of a lot of the patches, combined with the huge improvement with the last update it should be awesome !

We have to do the RAM upgrades at Symbolic Sound (it requires a low-level firmware update for the Paca or Pacarana to be able to access the additional memory).

Love the idea of self-upgrading RAM, though (maybe we can figure out a way for the memory modules to mate and reproduce on their own without anyone's intervention!

Not sure I about this, will we then get blocks of jealous RAM, complaints of Ram infidelity and would we end up with RAM complaining of a head ache.
