I have encountered two problems with the VCS when using Compiled Grids.

1) Oscilloscope and Spectral Displays do not work. They show up as empty rectangles. Sometimes they cause a fatal error when compiling the Grid and must be removed from the Sound.

2) The VCS for Grid Sounds gets corrupted by closing and re-opening the Grid. Faders dissappear. Doing a "Compile All Sounds" corrects the problem, but that defeats the purpose of the Grid.

You can try this by grabbing a few sounds from the Overview (use ones with lots of faders and displays), dropping them into a Grid and compiling. Save and close the Grid, compile some other sounds (or quit Kyma), then re-open the Grid. The VCS for some of the Sounds should be affected.

Has anyone else been able to reproduce this?

Am I the only person who wants to use Compiled Grids?

i had the same problem and stopped using the Compiled Grids when the timeline came.
i had problems in switching between sounds in a life situation. i always had to wait for the samples to be loaded into ram.
a makro object which reads a sample into the ram while playing it could help here i guess.
hm, i guess i lost your topic.....
good night

Sorry, but we have not had the chance to replicate this. It is on the list for checking out though...
