i'm starting to get interested in upgrading my bit path from 16 to 24 bits in my recording... i know a bit about the techniques and advantages, but would love to read a FAQ or have access to some good information about the process.

are there any general pro/audio websites out there that people like to read for such information?

thanks.
taylor

I use www.core-sound.com . They have lots of useful info and sell good quality recording gear. Of interest is their new PD Audio CF (http://www.core-sound.com/HighResRecorderNews.html)

Hope this is useful.

Take a look at the "Microphone University" here: http://www.dpamicrophones.com/eng_pub/ I think this is one of my all time favorite audio/recording/web resources.

for general info and great forums: http://www.recording.org http://www.homerecording.com

and another decent forum here: http://www.audioforums.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi

A bit stale but still useful: http://www.prorec.com/

that should start you off

Okay, the above info isn't so specific to your 16 bits upgrading to 24 bits question, however, all of these resources have strong, general purpose usefullness. The forums will have answers to most of your questions anyway, just do some searching.

hey everyone..

thank you for all of this info. in the past i have been involved with discussions on the usenet board rec.audio.pro, but sometimes responses can be slow, or nonexistent.

these are good sources for info.. and probably quicker than going back through my years of keyboard and electronic musician magazines....
