Are you working on a firewire or usb interface? I have an iBook I'd like to use with the Capy that has no PC Card slots.

Sounds like a good idea. We'll look into it.

Hi,
I would certainly echo the interest in a
Firewire interface! Would make my PowerBook
G4 much easier to use with the Continuum!
And other such items...

cheers,
Bill

Hmm...I was under the impression that you´d started looking into this months ago, as this is what I was told when I asked for a replacement of some sorts for the slooow PCMCIA solution (playing back disk tracks on a Powerbook w/PCMCIA is not good).

Firewire, or a cardbus thingy.

I *really* hope a new interface is in development.

I too thought something was already under development. I bought the Capy to use with my G3 powerbook and only learned last week (10 months after purchase) that infact the PCMCIA interface provides only 25% of the PCI interface performance. Infact I have been rather surprised at the low performance for audio playback of disk, and the associated slowing down of the GUI redraw when audio recording is taking place, only in stereo. I can only get stereo using the ASIO driver as well which is not really what I was expecting when I bought the delux powerhouse of reltime synthesis. This is double suprising when various companies are selling 6 channel USB interfaces? Anyway, waiting for more audio I/O power while learning to write algorithms in Kyma, which endlessly amuses me.

Yeah, forget the Cardbus interface.
Forget USB, it's way too slow.
Firewire.
Firewire.
Firewire.
Then I could be using an inexpensive ibook instead of this stupid 3-year old powerbook.
