I just stumbled over a very interesting concept by Waldorf: 16 analog filters connected via usb2.0 or firewire (in the future) to a host computer controlled by plugins. for all who cried after analog filters i could very well imagine this analog filter box connected via firewire to the capy and programmable in kyma like a well-known kyma digital filter sound. how do you like? Wouldn´t it be the ultimate combination? website: http://www.waldorf-music.com/products/afb/ IP: Logged |

Speaking of filters, does Kyma X contain any updated filters, hopefully the much wished for "musical filters"? I didn't see any mention on the update page. Thanks- Mark IP: Logged |

There is a new filter variant... We leave its 'musicality' up to you. IP: Logged |

hm, seems people are not interested in or I wasn´t clear. Imagine using your Kyma like you´re used to use it and when you need a filter, put in a filter prototype in your patch. With the Waldorf filter box you would get a 100% analog filter at this position. Means, the signal would automatically be fed through firewire to the filter box, converted d-a, filtered analog, converted back a-d and returned via firewire into your patch. So no cabling, every paramter controlled inside Kyma and no loss of i/o´s. Which actually brings me to another idea: Why not offer an additional I/O-Box via firewire for even more I/O´s? It should be fast enough, I guess. IP: Logged |
