![]() ![]() ![]() In working my way through the overview, I have encountered a couple of examples that do not match the Sounds in Kyma. Specifically, on p28, I could not find the GenericSource, only live generic sources; on p32, the Mixer from the Prototyples window did not contain either crossfade or concatenation inputs. I used other Sounds in both instances, but I wonder whether I missed something in my searches for those Sounds, or whether they--and possibly other, later examples--have changed with the Kyma 5 version. ![]() ![]() ![]() No, you are right, there have been a lot of changes made to the Prototypes between version 4.5 and version(s) 5 (in an attempt to make them clearer and expeditious). We tried to document all of the changes in the Kyma.5 Walkthrough but the odd one did slip through the documentation radar...sorry for the confusion! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() That's good to know, sort of. The finality of a failed search can leave one feeling puzzled at best, and inadequate at worst. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() One more quick question on this topic: As I continue to come across the Generic Source Sound in the overview, I would like a recommendation on a suitable substitute; the Live Generic Input is not the most convenient input to use for testing the examples, while the Generic Source seemed ideal. ![]() ![]() ![]() GenericSource Mono Sample is good for a source of a short sample of singing (MS-DOS). GenericSource Mono Disk is also good -- it is a short drum loop. By the way, you can switch the Source of the Generic Source easily by double-clicking on the Generic Source in the Sound editor, and choosing live, RAM or Disk, and you can easily substitute your own sample by clicking on the floppy disk (what's a floppy disk?) button at the right end of the Sample parameter field. Kyma will put up a file location window and you can select the sample you want to use. IP: Logged |
