![]() ![]() ![]() Good morning, I was unable to successfully cache a Sound (p63 of Kyma 5 tutorial) in several attempts, despite following the instructions exactly as written. The resulting files from the process were blank (and the file sizes about 23k each), so that when the Sounds were replayed from disk, all I got was silence. When I subsequently removed the cache from the Sound, it played as usual. I am running the Kyma 5.22 software from an iBook with OS 9.2. Bob IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Oops; the above message should have read file sizes of about 230k each. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() We just tried this out here (on Kyma 5.23), and it worked without a hitch. Did Kyma ask you for a location to save the file? Did you wait until the timeline had finished playing or had you paused or stopped the timeline in the middle? (Kyma records for as long as the timeline is playing, so if it were stopped, it would not have recorded the entire result.) Did you hear sound coming out of your speakers while the cache was playing? ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, Kyma asked me for a location to save the file, which I selected; the record button was checked at the end of the caching process (and I unchecked it as directed after completion of caching); I played the timeline from beginning to end to cache the Sound, and I did hear the Sound during the process. As I said, I did everything as directed; I'll try it one mo time.... IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Okay, so I didn't "exactly" follow the directions. Caching worked perfectly this evening--twice. I believe that what I did earlier was, before editing the DiskCache, rewind the timeline to the beginning. My guess is that this wiped the Sound clean, since Record was still engaged in the editor.
