Is there a way to change VCS layouts in a Timeline via a MIDI message?

Is this already possible? I found nothing on the forums, but maybe I´ve missed something. It would be very useful for me right now...

Hi Franz,

I think you can change VCS layouts from a controller with OSCulator, by assigning the key combo shift + down arrow to a wii button for example. To have the timeline do it automatically I suppose you could get Kyma to send a MIDI message to OSCulator that would trigger the key combo.

Hi Hector,

that´s a good idea! Thank you!
However, if I´d like to use a combo on the Wii to trigger the VCS- layout change, I suppose, I´d have to do this with capytalk (!WiiTrigger * !WiiButtonA, for example)- or can this be done within the OSCulator?
And how could I send Midi messages to the OSCulator?

Franz

Hi Franz,

You don't need to use a combination of buttons, just assign the key combos in OSCulator to two of the wii buttons, one for shift + down arrow, and another for shift + up arrow. Then arrange your layouts in the order you want to move through them and just move using the buttons.

I'm not sure about sending MIDI to OSCulator, as I've never done it myself. Maybe Camille can answer that when he has a chance. I guess you'd start with a Sound sending MIDI out of Kyma, but I don't know if it can go directly from Kyma to OSCulator or if you'd have to use MAX in between or something like that. Good luck!
