I have this in my custom global map: !ChainDetectsPen is: (`MIDIController125 displayAs: #gate; channel: 11). When I try writing the name into a field it auto-completes, but in the VCS the midi channel and controller aren't configured to specified channel and controller - they are left unassigned. Other controllers I have defined in the global map in the exact same way DO come up in the VCS with the channel/controllers assigned. Any ideas? I'm attaching the map here (zipped, because it wouldn't attach as a .map file). thanks, IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() Phil, could you please email the global map to us? Thanks! IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() The reason this does not work is that your controller number is too large. Controllers 120-127 are reserved by the MIDI specification for mode change messages ( http://www.midi.org/techspecs/midimessages.php ) and are ignored by Kyma. IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() But if I manually change the midi channel/controller assignments in the VCS, those messages are received fine. The MIDI specification seems a bit antiquated to me; I don't use any of the controller numbers in the way the specification intends them to be used. IP: Logged |
