Help! I'm having trouble reading Sound Designer II files. The files originated from a Mac and I am on a PC machine. What I Tried: On the Mac I copied the files to a PC-compatible diskette. On the PC I read the files and changed their extensions to .sd1 and .sd2 (I tried both).

What's the right way to do this?

unfortunatly kyma wonīt play sd2 files on the pc. maybe sd1, but thatīs not the question of changing the extension. sd1 and sd2 are very different formats.
thereīs one pc-program out there which converts sd2-files to wav files. i donīt remember exactly its name. and my sound pc is currently not in my home. tomorrow i can have a look ...
