photonal Member	posted 27 October 2011 05:20 Having read about Pacarana configuration I am still unsure about audio interfaces. Am I right in my understanding that the Pacarana needs its own audio interface? (I read that the Pacarana should have control over the audio interface rather than the computer.) I'm wondering how a Pacarana integrates into a studio setup. For example, if I'm using a DAW, would I need an audio interface for the DAW as well as the Pacarana or can the DAW use the audio interface which is assigned to the Pacarana too? IP: Logged

photonal Member	posted 27 October 2011 10:11 Sorry to sound cheap but I'm wondering now how to upgrade to a Pacarana on a budget - i.e. which is the 'best cheapest' audio interface users could recommend to use with a Pacarana for getting audio into a DAW. (I'd prefer not to use my Capy as a converter for a Pacarana). Regarding the setups on ( http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Learn/SettingUpPacarana ) could the second converter (for the DAW) be on the same FireWire bus? SSC Administrator	posted 27 October 2011 10:44 Yes, the two converters can be on the same FireWire bus (as long as the Mac does not have any drivers that would try to take over the Pacarana's converter).
