![]() ![]() ![]() Hi cpybites Seems like a really obvious question, and it probably is, but - how does one delete empty tracks that you no longer require in a timeline? Thanks IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() If you mean the track per se, you can move existing highlighted portions up and down into adjacent tracks with the up/down arrow buttons on your keyboard and cover the bottom empty track by pulling up the bottom border. Delete, I dunno. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() hmmm this is exactly my dillema - I ended up creating a new timeline and copying just the tracks I wanted into the new time line, but I just could not work out how to delete a track that I no longer needed, and I was concerned that it would take up some overhead (very little I am sure). I can't access the Capy now as it is in an installation until Friday, but I am sure I tried selecting the track and hitting 'delete' - it looked to me that you couldn't actually select the track, just it's contents. Still therefore wondering how to delete a track, which has no contents? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Well the bad news is that you can't delete a track (sorry for the oversight), but the good news is that empty tracks add absolutely zero processing time to the total, so it doesn't matter from that standpoint. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() It seems we still cannot do this. Is there any possibility it will still be implemented? Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() "Is there any possibility it will still be implemented?" please please actually i am dreaming of a symbolic sound interface designer having a look at "touchdesigner" from the company deriative. (it's free and you get it here http://www.derivative.ca/) I have not seen any program of any sort that was so useable... Here are some videos about the interface mainly http://www.derivative.ca/wiki/index.php?title=First_Things_to_Know_about_TouchDesigner just dreaming. I mean, the not beeing able to delete a timeline track thing is a funny one i think. But the somehow unreliable "Undo" is still i big thing best regards, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() re: copy and paste being unreliable, I presume you are talking about the copying and pasting of text within Kyma? Assuming yes, then I have to agree. I believe I've mentioned this on the forum a few times. It's quite simple to test. Create a sound, type in a variable name for say the Frequency parameter, highlight it and try to copy and paste the text to a different sound parameter (same behaviour with using ctrl-c and v or mouse menus, regardless of OS). Sometimes it works, more often it doesn't, either pasting back in the text you just deleted from the 2nd parameter or sometimes nothing. Personally it drives me round the bend sometimes David IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() i tend to think that i don't understand some feature, instead of believing that there is a bug...(because other things come out pasted sometimes)so i wasn't sure. Thanks for that. btw, i would love to hear other opinions on that. [This message has been edited by patrik (edited 30 October 2011).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() quote: Yes! (maybe sooner than you think, as KISS2011 attendees can attest
quote: We tried this (copy a field, paste into another field), and it works correctly. However, if you DELETE the current contents of the field using a backspace BEFORE you paste, the backspace acts like CUT (which puts the deleted contents into your copy buffer). This is actually a legacy of the Smalltalk language (and we, like you, find it irritating). We'll try to change that behavior before the next software update. Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi SSC quote: Aha! Right that's probably what I experience, I'm not in front of Kyma so I can't check. However it makes more sense now! I'd love to see a fix... David IP: Logged |
