A) I just solved my first problem, user interface error.

B) Can I save the position of the dividing line between graphical and textual elements of the sound flow editor. So when i re-edit the sound I can see the same detail. Quite often I find I need more space in the lower half. I do appreciate the ctrl + L.

C) is there any way of bypassing elements of the signal flow. To be a little more specific, toggle the undesired elements to another colour, and then compile without those elements in the signal path.

D) What is the quickest way to swap the order of two elements in the signal flow? I have a Source, a filter then a compressor, I would like to hear filter>Comp then Comp > Filter, with the same parameters.

Many thanks

Charlie

on D)

I use the insert another sound to the new place in the flow, copy and paste, and then delete the old module method. Not sure if this is the most elegant or not.

One suggestions how this feature could work would be a key modifier that would allow you to break a sound out of its place in signal flow and then be able to drop it back in at a different point.

on C)

not without creating a bypass route. it is a nice idea though.

Hi Charlie

for D) None are that elegant but

Method one if it was source>filter>comp>mixer
open mixer.
Alt drag filter in mixer and double click blank space to redraw.
open comp and Alt drag source to input.
open filter and Alt drag comp to input.
open mixer and delete comp.

Method two if it was source>filter>comp>xxx
set source as replaceable input.
drag filter to a sound file window.
drag that sound back from the sound file window to line between comp and xxx (not on the (+) sign).
open comp and drag source to it's input (or Alt drag if source is going somewhere else as well).

hope it helps

Thanks Chaps.

So ... B) & C) are simple feature requests that can be added to the tweaky

As for D), I think I was being a bit of a dumb ass, I had only been using short cut copy and paste for modulators into expressions, when it had come to signal flow editing, I have been using the mouse! Keph's dummy module method is pretty much what I was looking for.
Pete's ideas are great, I really don't think I take advantage of the replaceable input system enough.

I think ultimately I would like to have the ability to duplicate items on the signal flow (apple + D) and then *pick them up* (Cut sort of) - perhaps drag with a modifier to a new point along the flow. (tis a graphical system after all)

Thanks again. (feelin teh love)

I will go on a Tweaky feature request edit shortly...

One thing that can help if you want to copy the parameters from a module to another module of the same kind. Open the module to be copied to and drag the "copy from" module into all it's fields one at a time. This will make each fields text match the other module.

can some times help

Pete
