Dear Kyma-Support team,
I have a problem with the motormix controller. After a short time the display fades out and the controller crashes.
First time I thought it is a problem of the controller itself. But then after testing I found out that this problem only occours when it is MIDI-connected.
If the controller is unconnected, everythin is o.k. (besides I can't use it......)

My question:
I never had this problem before, while using KYMA with the pcmcia-card (OS WinME).
But I can't reconstruct the older version, because now I work with the powerbook under OSX.

Do you know of any problems regarding the motormix controller and the FireWire Interface, OSX or newer versions of KYMA?

Thanks a lot for the help, and a happy new year to the team (late but, hey!)

Chris, Berlin

We are not aware of any problems with your configuration -- in fact, it is the same configuration we use here all of the time!

What do you mean by the controller crashing? Do you mean that the faders stop moving when changed by Kyma and that fader moves on the MotorMix do not show up on the VCS?

For the LCD panel, sometimes the contrast changes as the MotorMix heats up. There is a knob on the rear panel to adjust this -- could you try this and see if the screen becomes visible?

The faders stop moving and they have no funktion, the VCS is fine.

This is not the problem, I've already checked it.

Do you have the MotorMix and Kyma connected to the same mains source (through a plug outlet strip)? If not, please give that a try. It could be that you are getting excessive ground current through the MIDI cable due to a ground loop.

I think this was a great idea!

It was not because of a different power source , it was because of an extension which seems to make trouble.

Thanks very much!
