Is it possible to make the Intuos3 work in OS9? I want to use it with ProTools when I buy it for the new Kyma version. My PT rig is still on OS9 thanks, frank. IP: Logged |

Unfortunately, Wacom uses a completely different scheme for controlling and reading the tablet for OS-9. If it had been the same as OS X, we would have put it in without any hesitation! IP: Logged |

Wacom has drivers for using the Graphire3 and Intuos3 under OS-9, but the way that OS-9 software communicates with those drivers is different from the way that OS X software communicates with the Wacom OS X drivers. IP: Logged |

Sorry for my ignorance, but I still donīt fully understand. I am not talking of the kyma support of the intuos3 under os9 and X but rather of the usage of the intuos3 on finder level. So the question is that I want to use the intuos3 with other apps under 9. WIll this work with the intuos3 drivers for 9 or not? Sorry for asking so stupidly, Iīm not quite sure what your answer was referring to. What do you mean by "the readout is different under 9 and X"? thanks, again! Frank. IP: Logged |

From reading the Wacom site, it appears that there is no Mac OS 9 driver for the Intuos3. There are Mac OS 9 drivers for the Graphire3 and the Intuos2 though. IP: Logged |

Yes. But I found an Intuos series driver for OS9 on versiontracker.com. I thought that might include the intuos 3. I guess itīs time to wave good bye to OS9. But ProTools is so buggy under OSX I didnīt dare to switch...otherwise I love OSX... thanks again, frank. IP: Logged |
