i´m looking for a custom programming of a media player for windows 98 and xp.
it shall have a look and feel like the known old media player from windows itself. i click on a .wav file, the media player opens immediatly and starts playing the file from disk. what i need are the play, pause, stop controls and the horizontal bar (fader) for modifying the actual play position.
what´s new: a pitch control for playing back the file from one octave faster up to four octaves slower (variable in realtime). the sample rate conversion needed for that process should be of exquisite quality and may eat up all processing power of my computer, if needed. (src-quality should equal "best" or "excellent" - positions in protools or samplitude.)
additionally there should be fixed rates for playing back files in different sampling rate environments (for example playing back a 44k1 file with a 48k wordclock in correct pitch.) it should be able to detect automatically which rate is needed.
the play position bar should contain a loop-in and loop-out control.
these functions should be midi-controllable, preferably with my incremental 4control by native instruments.

my hope is that there is a clever guy or girl outside in the world who has fun programming that for me. because i will use that program for my profession i´m of course willing to pay an appropriate fee for that.

if you´re interested, contact me directly: mbn@audionomio.de

more or less by chance i stumbled across a solution which allows me to do what i was looking for (or at least the basic function). there´s a dsp-plugin called "pacemaker" for winamp. it allows speed, pitch and tempo control in decent quality in realtime while playing back the wave file.
if that is of anybodys interest...

hi frank,

thank you for your hints. amazing slow downer is a nice program... but it has nor real "bypass". too complicated.
i´m just happy with my winamp solution now because i use it in conjunction with monkey audio lossless audio compression which saves me more than 200gb of disk space... which is fairly nice

best,
- m
