I have been a developer for over 10 years in the business realm. I have been developing .NET applications for about the last 4 years. I primarily write web, winform and web service based business applications.

I understand this is a different discipline than writing audio applications but I want to learn, but where to start?

Does anyone have suggestions at where to begin?

C++ seems like a good candidate. C# is the current language of development.
Smalltalk - the benefits here are quite obvious.
Math? (I need to start from the basics)

Any suggestions would be welcome.

What did you have in mind to create? Controllers? Interfaces? DSP algorithms? Or were you just planning to explore without necessarily having any particular application in mind?

(There is a lot of programming that you can do right in Kyma (for example with the Tool)).

Thanks for the reply.

All of the above. I know it is a vague question and a vague answer.

I am interested in expanding my knowledge to a very different level, including possible programming for the pacarana (new prototypes) if the SDK opens up in terms of the NDA.

For example, I just checked out SuperCollider's source code to review and to learn from. I also have the Steinberg VST 3 SDK.

This is the place to start: http://music.columbia.edu/cmc/music-dsp/musicdspFAQ.html

If you are going to have to start from a basic maths ability you may be in for a bit of pain depending on what you need to do!
