Hi All,

being just in the preparation of a live-recording again, i'm brooding about the possibility to use kyma/capy as a substantial element in the recording chain.
I know, the kyma/capy-system is not meant to be a DAW, but on the other hand: the capybara has good converters, it allows several simultaneous inputs (limit of 8 tracks is not a handicap for my mostly chamber-music like recordings), imagine in addition to this a DiskRecorder who allows you to record in multitrack mode (3 – 8 optional) and file format (SD-II? I’m not sure if this format can contain multi-channel information? Anyhow, some format that allows you to edit the recording in a later stage with the main DAWs on the market)…
Or is it maybe possible to create a kind of pseudo-multitrack mode in kyma with several parallel DiskRecorders? How reliable would this be, also in terms of synchronicity? Is there anybody who maybe already has tested this?
Thanks again.

Best, Flor

One way to do this would be in the Timeline:

* Create a new Timeline
* Set the inputs of tracks 1-8 to be inputs 1-8
* Drag a DiskRecorder into each of the tracks
* Select-all and set their durations to the maximum recording duration
* Play
