![]() ![]() ![]() we use wireless sensors similar to what is used in an ekg heart measurement in a system designed by engineer ed severinghaus. each sensor can be on a separate midi channel and send any kind of midi data that can be mapped as one wishes. this is totally wireless, permitting easy movement, although occasionally one might fall off the dancer. these can also be send to imagine from STEIM or videodelic to provide realtime video controls. ![]() ![]() ![]() There are also several other touchless sensor options. You might look into infrared or ultrasonic proximity sensors, which can then be hooked to a CV - MIDI digitizer/converter, Here are a few examples: http://www.ircam.fr/equipes/analyse-synthese/wanderle/Gestes/Externe/Comparison5.html I'm currently working on a dance piece which utilizes the I-CubeX system connected to custom sensors. The dancers themselves won't be wired, but will be controlling sound parameters via IR and magnetic field disturbance. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about that type of setup: dhonn@novascore.com [This message has been edited by dhonn (edited 27 July 2002).] IP: Logged |
