Please try downloading this file (and the midibpm.kym & phone.kym attached to previous notes) as follows and let us know whether you are successful or not. We have successfully downloaded the Sounds here at SSC on both Mac and PC using Netscape and Explorer as follows: Mac+Netscape: Click icon & hold down until you see the menu. Save this link as... Then select Source. Mac+Explorer: Click icon and hold down until you see the menu. Select Download link to disk PC+Explorer: Click on icon. It opens a window called File Download. Select Save this file to disk. IP: Logged

I tried downloading the timeline on a PC with Explorer 5.5. Clicking on the icon brought up a massive text file, probably a text rendering of the timeline. Right clicking and "Saving Target As" wanted to save the timeline as a text file. Changed the extension/type to kym, which should have been .ktl but windows still saved as text file. MidiBPM opens in Kyma 5.08 as invalid Boss file. Once with another file this happened and I edited the first few characters in a hex editor and it opened fine in kyma. Somebody on the forum mentioned about doing this. There seems to be an inconsistency about the files from SS. John IP: Logged

It works fine, never have any problems with the downloads so far. But the only difference with downloading phone and midibpm i saw it was no need to import these files and i'm using a Mac. Armand. [This message has been edited by armand (edited 03 December 2000).] IP: Logged

quote: In Explorer version 5.0 on the PC, clicking on the icon opened a small File Download window. It gave a choice of saving to disk or viewing the file. Saving to disk worked correctly for us. IP: Logged

Works fine with whatever Mozilla milestone I've got here on Windows 98. Assuming Explorer saving "as a text file" means it has a .txt extension, you have to select "all files" or whatever in the Save dialog as well as manually setting the extension to stop this. IP: Logged

Doing a right-click and Save Target As on my PC correctly saves the timeline today. The other day it did not. Weird! Most of the time there is no problem. John IP: Logged

Sorry, it seems that I am the one being inconsistent. I forgot that I was trying out a new browser call NetCaptor. Now that I've uninstalled it and am back to IE 5.5 even just left-clicking on the sound downloads it correctly. Another learning experience. John IP: Logged
