I just hooked-up my new Flame to my iBook - all seems fine, except I get this message: "The spectrum editor will not work when your display is set to this color depth".

I have my color depth set to "millions", but I tried the other lower settings of "thousands" and "256" and still get this message.

What should I do? (I'm running Sys 9.2.2)

Thousands of colors is correct. But you do have to quit Kyma and restart it after changing the Monitors settings.
