I have always wanted one of these:

Description: http://www.analoguehaven.com/makenoise/wogglebug/

Picture of Module: http://www.analoguehaven.com/makenoise/wogglebug/explained.jpg

Listen To it: http://www.analoguehaven.com/makenoise/wogglebug/001.mp3

I am only just about in conceptual control of what it is actually doing, however interested to hear peoples experiences of such technology and perhaps ideas for realisation.

Surely a clever modulation implementation of one of Ben's modules may be a route forward.

One for the never ending list!

We should start an encapsulated section on the tweaky of our special modules! It really would speed up complex structures.. (and look lovely and tidy in the sound structures!)

Blerg Blerg.

Yeah, I have one in my modular. In fact, working with it in a patch right now.

I mainly use it for random voltage control and also random pitch control. It can be especially nice feeding a quantizer. The fact that you also get random triggers makes it especially useful.

We need more random or psuedo random in Kyma.

The Wiard Noise Ring is another module that might give you ideas.

Both of them have a clock that determines the rate of change and also the chance of things changing.

The woggle allows you to choose the range that random events happen over. There is a smooth output which is slewed and a quantized output which steps.

There are trigger outs, multiple of them. They fire at different rates and times.

Then there is also a jitter type control.

All this would be useful in Kyma. It would be nice for complex envelopes and triggers.

I never thought there was a lack of random event generation in Kyma, but I certainly see how it would be useful to package it some of them up into modules that is focused on certain tasks.

In the meantime, take peek at all the random number capytalk options along with the tracker and follower options.
