Dear SSC,

would it be possible in some future release of Kyma to implement a feature for custom organisation of Sounds in the Prototypes window ?

What I mean exactly is the ability to reorder the Sounds within the categories ( not only have an alphabetical order ), define own spacing between the Sounds, and organize Sounds in a stack-like manner ( not only linear view, which constrains to scrolling ).

It simply results from my workflow, where I prefer to zoom the prototype window when I create sounds. I would have the ability to see all the Sounds at once in the dedicated category, in the order that makes to me more sence to look at.

I would be very pleased and my patching-speed would be much improved...

Many thanks,
Roman

P.S: in the case such a feature already exist and I simply miss something, I am sorry. I would be very thankful if someone could point me to it.

I also noticed different spacing behaviors:

e.g. Sources&Generators vs. Sources&Generators KBD Ctrl

Both categories have much more items that could fit the window, but the spacing is different.

In categories such a Midi In, Modulation, Variables the spacing is dynamic. It resizes the item-space with the window size. Other categories with larger Sound content seems not to have this feature.

Maybe here is an option to make it more flexible, like I mentioned earlier.

Many thanks

Hi Roman,

In the meantime, I wonder whether you could create your own Prototypes window by using a Sound file window? You could stack up the Sounds (overlap them) or create any spacing you like. When you were not using it, you could minimize the window (or just leave it open and off to the side).

Thank you for the quick reply, SSC. I have already started to build such database as categoric sound-overview in the library. It wasn't such a bad idea.
"In the meantime" gives me a good reason to hope to see such features in the future !

Thanks for all your work !

Kyma-Prototypes.zip

Just for visualisation purposes here's a couple of example mockups to show how the Prototypes window might look. (E.g. for Sources & Generators and Oscillators).
