Do the third party User Microsounds work on the new hardware?

Sorry, but third party User Microsounds will not work on the the Paca(rana) without first being rewritten for the new hardware.

Ouch! I assume this means that CAG microsounds can't be used on the Pacarana yet. That's a blow, the CAG microsounds are just sensational. I think I would have given up on Kyma without discovering them. I hope Christiaan is able to (planning on?) update(ing) these for Pacarana use sometime soon, they are an awesome collection.

An interesting subject!

I wonder if the microsounds SDK already supports the new hardware?

Also, is the new hardware based on 56K family DSPs or perhaps something entirely different running emulated/translated code?

(If a single person keeps asking the same question over and over again should the question in question then be considered a frequently asked question? Speaking of which: the use of the different subforums here seems a bit vague to me (a long(ish) time Kyma forum lurker...) - most of the topics could perhaps be placed under a single subforum? And while I'm at it: the forum software itself is rather yucky (ever tried making a forum search?) AND while charming in their retro-Kymatic style, the Kyma 5 era graphics aren't exactly up to date. Howard Moscovitz's electro-music.com is making good use of phpBB - how about checking into that for example?)

The Paca(rana) is based on a new processor and the software has been entirely rewritten so it runs natively (not emulated). We are under an NDA for now (but may be able to say what it is later).

A microsound developer SDK for the new hardware is not yet available.

Christiaan has said that he is considering a rewrite but he won't have time until later this year.
