Hello All -

As stable a s Kyma was on XP, it's not useable for me on my Mac MIni. I've searched the forum and Tweaky w/o any results, so I'll pose the question here:

Any activity, moving, resizing or, alas, choosing a prototype icon in the prototype bar crashes Kyma on my Mac Mini (G4 1.4MHz, 1 Gig memory). I can use sounds from the browser and they play, but if I try to *touch* the prototype bar, adios Charlie.

Help?

Mike

Hi Mike, Which version of Kyma and which version of OS X are you running? (We just tried starting up Kyma on the same model Mac Mini here and it appears to be stable...). Do you get an error message? Does Kyma just disappear? What does it say in Crash Report log? (in the Console utility).

Thanks!

OSX 10.4.10
Kyma 6.451

I also have a Matrox DualHead2Go device that gives me a two monitor setup. My audio is provided by a Tascam FW-1884 via FireWire.

Thanks,

Mike

Sounds like it might be related to the OpenGL driver for your video card. Please check the Matrox web site to see if there is a driver update you can install. If you are still experiencing graphics problems, please try disabling "Hardware Acceleration of Graphics" in the Miscellaneous Preferences in Kyma.

I disabled all graphics acceleration and crolling enhancements with no luck. I will see if there is a new driver for the Matrox...

The Mtrox does not use drivers to do it's thing: it takes the analog signal from the Mac and splits the the sync lines to form the two monitor signal. All done in the box, the Mac just thinks it's in 2400x1600 (more or less) video mode.

The fix is curious: put the Prototype bar in one screen and make sure it does not cross over onto the other screen, then it works :\

I tried Kyma without the Matrox and it works fine. The work-around is functional.
