![]() ![]() ![]() Hello All, 'Download the beta Kyma FireWire Interface firmware supporting AV/C audio on the Macintosh 21 December 2007' A few questions.... a) I assume the following release of KFIF 11 April 2007 does not include the AV/C support?!? Think I might take the plunge, I have a laptop and Kyma; yet no mixer at home..! Many thanks Charlie [This message has been edited by CharlieNorton (edited 06 April 2009).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() OOOOO no no no, there was never a problem with the timing, in-fact I would say Kyma feels incredibly quick and stable compared to many midi hardware synths, it was merely just a question/discussion point from a technical angle, as for some creative applications I like to trigger gates on a sample accurate basis. (which is not possible via conventional midi!?! because of the timing jitter!?!) I was wondering if sending the midi down the FW is a step towards this. Many thanks for just being there. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sadly, the MIDI over FireWire spec requires that you quantize to MIDI rate, so it is not an improvement in timing accuracy. ![]() (MIDI-like messages using OSCulator and FireWire Continuum are another matter, though!) IP: Logged |
