![]() ![]() ![]() Any plans for an OSC object in Kyma? I have access to a Lemure interface and it seems like an ideal companion for Kyma - 2 way OSC messages could set the interface as per the Motormix and receive incoming data, but it would alos allow networked data sonification and networked Capys... Imagine the powere.... we could all leave our Capys on when we are not using them and have an international processing grid....... ;-) garth IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() We have plans to add this in the future (but it will be through the host computer, not on the Capybara itself). In the meantime, you might be able to use David Kier's Kyma/Max object to have Max handle the OSC and forward messages to and from Kyma. The Lemur has MIDI outputs in addition to OSC I/O. Edmund Eagan is using the Lemur with Kyma (I am not sure whether he is using David's Max object or the direct MIDI outs on the Lemur). IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi SSC, The time I learned how to handle FireWire messages to communicate with the Capybara, I have been able to make simple application that simulates a Wacom tablet on screen (thanks to Cocoa, the application was device / resolution independant without any additional code.) I think it would be great to handle OSC via a side application that is launched seperately from Kyma and simply receive / forwards / translates OSC messages to continuous controller (amoung other message types). Though I don't really know much about OSC protocol and I don't have gear that handles OSC, I will spend a bit of time on enhancing my test app with OSC flavor ... Cheers, IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() quote: Actually the Lemure only has a network port - they have a Max object and a seperate app for MIDI. It speaks OSC so one can take the data any where there is a Network port. I was thinking if we could send the network data directly into Kyma and then use some string parsing to seperate out the various control data that would be great - of course it would still need a host computer, and yes I can use Max for OSC and then David's Max object to get the data into Capy at the moment, but a hardware network port would be very sweet :-) garth IP: Logged |
