So am I right in understanding that the BPMTimeStretchLoop and nearly all the other looping-timestretching prototypes (BPMsampleLoop and others) can't be triggered by say, a MIDI key down or an Analog sequencer?

If that's the case, is there an obvious way to trigger time stretched loops that I'm missing?

I wonder why they would be set up that way. The only non-pitch shifting time stretcher I can find with a Gate parameter is SOS and it's a processor eater.

You could use an expression in place of !BPM:

!KeyDown durationBetweenTriggers s bpm removeUnits

There are examples of this in the Tempo tracking Sound file in the Tempo, pitch, amp following folder in the Kyma Sound Library.

Hmm, either I'm just dense or my question was unclear.

I want to interactively start and stop the BPMTimeStretch or some other non-pitch shifting time stretched looper, then I could sequence playback of the loops while they take the tempo from a master !BPM.

or at least just trigger the loop at the beginning of every cycle of am analog sequencer so I can ensure they stay in sync.

Sarth,

Here's an example of how to build up your own version of the BPMTimeStretcher. I took a Sample and speed it up/slow it down by multiplying its Frequency by the ratio of !BPM and the sample loop's original BPM. Of course this also changes the Frequency, so I use the PolyphonicPitchShifter to compensate by shifting the frequency down or up (depending on whether the BPM is higher or lower than the natural BPM of the sample loop).

You can retrigger this one by just retriggering the Sample.
