![]() ![]() ![]() 1.)my vcs editor seems to interpret left = 0 as the middle of the window. this makes me nuts. is it a bug or am i having bad luck with my kyma system??? 2.) how to attach the capy to a rack. is there a support page which gives me the right dimensions for the rackmounters. where are the holes to drive in the screws, .... ![]() ![]() ![]() There are two Left fields in the VCS: the upper one controls the left edge independently of the right edge, the lower one moves the entire control left or right such that the left edge lines up with what you typed in. (Is it possible that your control is half the width of the VCS?) We have a rack mount kit that you can use to place your Capybara into a rack. It is a set of replacement side panels -- you remove the old side panels and put on these. The rack mount panels have the mounting holes in the normal place for your rack. Alternatively, you could place the Capybara on a standard rack shelf. [This message has been edited by SSC (edited 22 March 2001).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() first: it would be of enourmous help if one could "group" certain widgets in the vcs. maybe by placing them in a box. otherwise i always have to lock each parameter seperately when i want to use the random button. takes a while when i have more than ten widgets...... second: when i create a new widget it has the coordinates: -10/-50/100/50 -10/-50/200/100 the object is placed in the middle of the window.... if i change the first 2 values to zero the object more or less stays in the middle. i am not allowed to use negative values. it resets automatically to zero. only when i grab the object with the mouse, i can drag it to the desired place. and only then the coordinates dialoge boxes behave as expected. cheers ->michael IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I have experienced this too - I got around it by giving a big enough Y co-ordinate that it was away from other widgets and could then be selected without selecting other widgets. When using the VCS editor I couldn't help thinking of when using illustration programmes like Freehand whereby you can press option or command whilst clicking to progressively select objects through the various layers. I would really appreciate this in the VCS editor, especially when you have loads of widgets and space gets limited. I would also like to see a function where selected widgets would inherit the same dimensions as the first selected widget. And also something which would distribute widgets within the vcs either horizontally or vertically at regular spaces such that they don't overlap - which happens for example when resizing widgets which are close together. But don't get me wrong - I don't want to start creating my Curriculum Vitae in Kyma......yet! Andrew Andrew IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() "And also something which would distribute widgets within the vcs either horizontally or vertically at regular spaces such that they don't overlap" In the VCS Editor, check out the options under the Arrange button. See page 23 of the Kyma.5 Walkthrough for an explanation of Squeeze horizontal, Distribute, etc. You can select multiple widgets using shift-select or by drawing a boxed selection. However, the grouping is only used for changing the widget types and ranges. Groupings for locking etc would be very handy! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry, I didn't understand at first that it was when you created a *new* widget. That's fixed now and will show up in the next update on the web (coming soon to a support site near you). IP: Logged |
