![]() ![]() ![]() As I work through the book I'm encountering certain Sounds in the Library that don't seem to work as expected. Here they are, so far: No 'Change' button for Sample Ctrl Loop pts 1,2,4,8 beats Is this the intended output for Freq/TimeScaling-BPM ctrl Resynth duration? Something wrong with Morph bass to car horn? Drum Machine in Sampling/Rhythmic Loops gives 'Error: This Collection Is Empty' Something wrong with Ring modulation! in Teaching Examples? (Fixed by reloading Sine.aif) Something wrong with 'adding sine waves' in Synthesis Background & Pads/Additive synthesis? (Same as above -- when I checked out the preloaded 'sine' by Ctrl-clicking the floppy icon, it looked fine, however). Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() Can you tell me where the Sounds pull the 'sine' from? It's not the Sine.aif. The 'sine' seems to have become corrupted somehow. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() For the connection between the Flame and the Capybara, are you using the cable that was originally supplied by Symbolic Sound? (Note, the cable we provide with the system is *not* a standard DB-25, and substituting a different cable can result in errors like the corrupted sine table you describe). ![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, Yes, I believe I'm using the cable that was supplied but this is a secondhand unit. How can I identify whether or not this is the original cable? When I shift-click the disk icon for the 'sine' it's being pulled from the Waveform directory. However, when I reload the Sine.aif from that directory, the problem disappears. I compared the two via the info from shift-click AND ctrl-click and they appear identical. It doesn't make sense. [This message has been edited by cebec (edited 04 March 2007).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Just checking to make sure you received them OK. Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Yes (responded by email), the cable looks like the right one. Please try reinstalling Kyma from the tweaky update. If the internal sine file has gotten corrupted, re-installing should restore it. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() OK. Sorry, I haven't received your reply, yet. I've re-installed 6.42 and will let you know if I have any further problems. [This message has been edited by cebec (edited 06 March 2007).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Please try the following: 1. Find the Oscillator prototype (ctrl+b to search) 2. Double-click on it to open it 3. Play it 4. Does it sound correct? If it sounds corrupted, ctrl+click on the disk icon next to the wavetable field 5. Look at the waveform If the waveform looks good then there must be another explanation for the problem. If the waveform looks messed up, then maybe you have another file named Sine somewhere in your Frequency Used Folders? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hmm. Looks and sounds fine and I haven't encountered any Sounds with this problem since yesterday. Maybe I imagined it after the 6.42 re-install. I'll keep monitoring this. I appreciate the troubleshooting help! IP: Logged |
