Author | Topic: Question about EventValue Ranges using apostrophe |
trotz Member |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have just discovered that * in the preset Eventvalue Ranges list at page 403 means "wildcard"... Reading between the lines and a little trial and error did help. But I see other EventValues with apostrophe such as (cutoff') or ('tune*). Does it have also any special meaning? Thanks in advance, Pere IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() A blue EventSource (name preceded by an apostrophe) is in one-to-one correspondence with a hardware controller, whereas the red EventVariables preceded by an exclamation point is intended as the more memorable, human-readable name for that controller. The only times blue EventVSources might be visible are either in the Global map (where you define a mapping from EventSources to EventValues) or when you Expand (ctrl+E) a Sound having hot values. Then you might see, for example, !Freq (in red) turn into 'Freq (in blue). But in general, you should stick with using the red variables (created by preceding the variable name you'd like to use with an exclamation mark). IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks! I will look inside the Global Map to see a few examples and read again about Expanding a Sound. Best Regards, Pere [This message has been edited by trotz (edited 12 January 2010).] IP: Logged |
