![]() ![]() ![]() Hello, I think I came across a side effect of how sounds with green variables work. I tried to archive a sound file containing both classes (with still unbound variables) and working sounds. The problem is that I had a prompt asking me to bind the unresolved variables while I tried to archive the sound file to another place. I'd like to keep the original classes next to the sounds that use thgem and still be able to archive the sound file. Is there a way to do so? More generally, is it possible to archive sounds with greens variables?

![]() ![]() ![]() When you archive a Sound file, Kyma saves the Sound file to the new location exactly as if you had used Save as from the File menu. After saving the file, Kyma compiles all of the Sounds in the Sound file in order to determine all of the sample files, spectra, MIDI files, etc. used. When the compiler runs, it needs to bind values to the green variables, but the bindings are not saved and your newly archived Sound file is unchanged. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I actually guessed it was doing this. Is it possible for the compiler to run something like a "dummy-bindings" mode? Is it a feature that can be easily implemented? I can guess it is not as important as other things you are working on!!! When the compiler ask for the bindings more than 10 times, the archive feature is almost unusable. Moreover, if the user doesn't provide the good answers to the binding questions, the archiving operation can be lost entirely. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() i concur on this. i love the end result of archiving sounds, but sometimes the process to get there is a bit cumbersome so i don't do it as often as i like. i am also not a fan of the default layout of the parameters when you archive. it universally lays them out in a way that no one would want. i tend to always stick to a 4 x 4 grid (unless there are more than 16 parameters). i guess since i have to change them all to get them in the right order it doesn't really matter. a more interactive drag and drop would be ideal.
