Author | Topic: Kyma and Interface Problem |

![]() ![]() ![]() I am running Kyma on an i-Book, and separately from my Digital Performer sequencing software, which is running on a G-3. My MIDI interface is a MOTU Micro Express, connected to the G-3. My problem is that other than repatching my keyboard controller MIDI cable out directly to the Capybara MIDI in, I seem to have to run DP in order to hear the Kyma audio, and need to have the track Record button on. I have searched the Mico Express user's guide for instructions on using the interface without a computer, but cannot find any reference on that topic. Does someone out there know a solution that does not require my having to crawl behind my rig to repatch each time I want to work solely in Kyma? Thanks, Bob IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() It Sounds like you need to change the preset on the MicroExpress to a "Live Keyboard" rather than "Sequencer X". This can be done from the front panel or my recommendation is to install and run the ClockWorks program that is included with FreeMIDI (it has to be installed separately via the Custom menu of the installer). This will give you a visual display of your interfaces settings and allow you to edit existing or create your own presets. Just remember to switch to the right preset for the different usage and all should be well. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Babakool, Thanks! As it happens, I just five minutes ago reread the Factory Presets section of the user's guide and came across the words "for using a MIDI controller without a computer" under the Live Keyboards sub-section. I had read that section three times without seeing those words.... Bob IP: Logged |
