Author | Topic: Random Parameter Control After Quit |
Lowell Pickett Member |
![]() ![]() ![]() I am working on an older 667 mHz PowerBook G4 in OS 10.3.3. I am trying to record some live processing into Logic audio. In OS X, Logic (in conjunction with a Core Audio driven Digigram PCMCIA sound card) really sucks the life out of my computer so in order to make things run smoother, I've been launching my KYMA sounds and then quitting the application to give Logic as much room as possible. I have some sounds I'm using that I enjoy "rolling the dice" with while I'm playing. I've been doing this with a foot pedal that sends MIDI program change 128 (or 127 depending how you look at it). Unfortunately, when I quit KYMA, there is no longer a virtual control surface (duh), and my sound doesn't respond to the random parameter change anymore. I'm assuming that this type of random parameter control isn't built into the sound and sent to the Capybara but instead is a function of the VCS. Is there an easy straight-forward way that I can get this kind of control back without having the KYMA application running or do I have to go in and mess with random number generators and MIDI input within all of my sounds? Am I just being lazy? Any "hot tip" would be appreciated. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry but it's not possible! ![]() Kyma has to be running to roll the dice (even from the MotorMix button). IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I haven't tried it just now, but I remember this Max patch working to send the dice command even when the laptop was unplugged using the PCMCIA interface. I don't remember where this patch came from, but it is not my work - I have adapted it for my purpos, but the author is no I. Garth ----- cut from below here ----------- IP: Logged |
