Author | Topic: copying a sound from one timeline to another causes unwanted rhythmic expansion/compr |

![]() ![]() ![]() When I copy a sound from one timeline to another, the original sound appears in the destination timeline as being four times longer, and all its parameter controls are consequently also expanded fourfold, creating an unacceptable situation. I've checked all the controls in the upper window and they appear identical in both timelines. I've even made both timelines the same length. This happens also with the Kyma demo timelines. Some wind up being 2x or 4x shorter than the original, some a multiple of times longer. I must be doing something wrong. This is a bizarre effect and totally upsets what I need to do creaticely. Any help would be appreciated. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Bart, It's possible that the value of the master control, BPM, is different in the source and destination Timelines. Please compare the values in the source and destination Timelines to see whether this might be the cause. Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Yep, that was exactly my problem. Actually I have never used the master BPM at all, so this was something I had not thought of. Speaking of BPM, I am wondering about the feature where every sound with a BPM hot value, when dragged into the timeline, has a default feature in the parameter field area where its BPM is slaved to the master. And so, not using the master BPM and seeking track rhythmic independence(where each track has its own separate BPM), I have to go through each newly dragged sound and unslave/automate its BPM. Among larger issues this is just a minor inconvenience, but it would be nice to be able to defeat this, and have the BPM appear just like all the other hot values when a sound is dragged into the timeline. I notice that when I open up the automate menu with master BPM selected, I may be able to eliminate the master BPM entirely. Will this create unforseen problems? IP: Logged |
