Author | Topic: sample looping behavior |

![]() ![]() ![]() I just noticed a slightly inconvenient thing about how the StartLoop parameter in the Sample sound works. I don't know if its always worked this way, but if so I'm surprised I just noticed it now. If you change the StartLoop parameter while the sample is looping, it will loop through using the old settings one more time instead of using the new start point the very next time it loops. So if the StartLoop is set to 0, if I change it to 0.9 while the loop playback is in the middle of the loop, when it finishes playing the loop it doesn't then jump to playing just the last tenth of the sample, it actually plays the loop again all the way through, and then the time after that it starts playing just the last tenth of the loop. Is there some technical reason it has to be like this? The EndLoop parameter doesn't work like this, it is adjusted on the next play-through of the loop like I would expect it to (although it might be better if the current playback was truncated at the new end point, assuming that the new end point hasn't already been passed).
