SSC Administrator	posted 12 March 2003 09:58             Flame is compatible with the new 800 Mbps standard but it runs at the current speed of 400 Mbps. In other words, you can use it on the 17" Powerbook, but it doesn't operate at the faster rate. We would like to upgrade Flame at some point but do not have a projected date for that upgrade yet. If you have a device that *does* use the 800 Mbps rate, connect that to the FireWire interface of the computer, and then connect the Flame to the other device. In other words, link the fastest devices together in a chain that terminates with the computer, so they can run at 800 Mbps. IP: Logged
