normalizescrshot.jpg.sit

hello

i have a question that i haven't asked about because i have managed to work around it but every so often it comes up.

i get an error in gain field message when i attempt to do any normalizing in the sample editor. i always use a digit before the decimal place, and i always have at least three digits. i attached a screen shot.

often if i repeat the steps and change the numbers slightly i can get it to work. in this case i wanted to force the last segment of the sample close to zero. so i was normalizing with a fractional number.

i think it might be a keystroke combination but i have not been able to pin it down.

cheers

Rafe could you please turn on Stack Traces to give us some additional information on this error? To turn on stack traces, go to Edit>Preferences. In the Miscellaneous category check the box to enable the stack traces. Then when you get this error, click Stack trace in the dialog (instead of OK). Then you can email the stack trace to us. It looks a bit gobbeldygookish but it will give us a hint as to what is going on when you get the error.
Thanks!

Fyi

this is a keystroke error. Sometimes if you select the value in the amplitude feild the numbers that you type can be doubled, but one of the sets of numbes remains hidden. if you encounter this problem as i have you can verify what you have typed in the field by clicking in the amplitude field and Cmd + A (sellect all in apple) and the copy it and paste in in a text editor and you will likely see more than one line of numbers.

thanks kurt
