Anyone mastering their music with Kyma?

Especially interested in using Kyma for mastering dance music. Any Kyma sounds out there for the purpose?

You may want to search David McClain's musing on compression, eq, and phase handling on the forum. Also there are remnants of his work on the tweaky with plenty of modules that would fall along those lines.

I'd be interested in what your thoughts are after going through that. It may make an interesting project to go back through the contributed sounds over the years and make a consolidate and updated tool kit focused on master or mix down types of use cases.

I miss David's contributions to the kyma community. If anyone knows him, please wish him well from those who benefited from his knowledge and explorations.

Ben Phenix.

Yes David's contributions are great - I have used his mastering sounds but have not really been getting the sounds I was looking for. Perhaps some more tweaking is necessary regarding the mixes I feed it.

Considering the power of Kyma, it ought as well be able to function as an excellent outboard mastering unit too right? but is no one using it for this purpose?

I used to use Davids, Peter and Bens microsounds to make some great mastering devices on my capybara, which I used in combination with analog outboard on professional work for clients. Sadly, they broke when I went over to Paca generation.

Check out the version of the Soup EQ a design by David which I tweaked and fixed , over at the twiki.http://www.symbolicsound.com/cgi-bin/bin/view/Share/Sounds#EQ_and_Mixing

Thanks for pointing that out - the microsounds list includes those from David, Pete and Christian - is there a link for the microsounds from Ben? A search in the forum didn't bring anything up.

I believe for those sounds, I used David's microsound code. I am an assembler not a coder
