![]() ![]() ![]() Hi, A couple of questions on the tutorials: 1--In Audio Demonstrations Tutorial, pp98-99: There is no Volume fader with the Oscilloscope, so no opportunity to set the fader; additionally--and more importantly--I could not locate the text file for input of the "16 samp inverse" phrase, as is suggested on p99. Where is that expression supposed to be typed? The SyntheticSpectrumFromArray? 2--Backgrounds, Textures Tutorial, pp100-102: Although I inserted the Presets Sound just before the speaker icon, I was not able to have it maintain the altered settings (p102), but found that it reverted to the default settings after compilation. Wot have I done wrong? (P.S. the cloud Sounds do not contain Duration parameters, as is in the book.) Thanks, Bob IP: Logged |

Here you have hit on two of the major differences between Kyma 4.5 and Kyma 5: "In Audio Demonstrations Tutorial, pp98-99: There is no Volume fader with the Oscilloscope, so no opportunity to set the fader." You're right, the !Volume fader was replaced in the example by an expression that automatically compensates for the settings of the settings for each harmonic. It isn't necessary for the example (you can use the rightmost zoom button in the Oscilloscope to increase the size of the signal in the display) "-I could not locate the text file for input of the "16 samp inverse" phrase, as is suggested on p99" 495 - 50 + 6 or Float pi * 2 normSin or (to multiply a number by the Fibonacci ratio) 21 * Float phi inverse [This message has been edited by SSC (edited 24 June 2002).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the explanations; and, as hard as it may be, I'll try not to take everything in the manual so literally... IP: Logged |
