Virtual Control Surface layouts and settings are, aparently, attached to a particular sound. I spend a lot of time setting up the layout of my VCS and I have run into a situation where I would like to "share" VCS settings between sounds. Can this be done?
I had a complex set of sounds which ran into a stereo mixer and then out outputs 1/2. I set up a nice VCS layout to control all of the various sounds that went into this main stereo mixer. I then decided that I wanted 4 individual outputs instead of mixing internally in Kyma. So I replaced the Stereo mixer with a 4x4 matrix sound, assigning each of the four former inputs to the stereo mixer directly to an individual output. All that worked well. Problem is that my VCS layout is now gone. Is there a way for me to cut/paste the old layout from the Stereo Mixer sound into this 4x4 matrix output sound? I understand that there could surely be a whole host of issues with enabling this... but is there SOME way?

swapVCS.kym

Here is a Sound that will swap the VCSs of its two inputs. If you drag the original Sound and the new Sound into it (dragging gives you a *copy* of each), and then play the Script exactly once, the two VCSs will be swapped. Then you can drag the input Sounds into your Sound file window. (It's not pretty, but hey, it does the trick and might save you a little time)

I kept running into this too, and I finally decided to use an Annotation sound on the front of all my extensive sound constructions.

That way I can change what lies behind it without ever losing my setup. Of course this doesn't work for stealing VCS layouts from an existing sound and pasting into another.

For that I'll gladly use the new Kyma provided sound script.

Thanks!
