Hey Peeps,

I am getting more confident with the spectral analysis tool, but I have a question...

When creating the Quasi file and you are tracing the fundamental, is it best practice to let the segmented line traverse the center point of the plot, or should I map out every little contour, peak and trough for the best possible synthesis?

I am having a go at creating a detailed map, but am unsure if it worth investing the time. I guess I should experiment with a short section, but I only want to do this once. Lol.

Thanks

Charlie

Hi Charlie

It is definatly on a if needed bases.
Most sounds will get away with minimal but for speech you are more likely to need lots.

It is best to try it first and test what you get when morphing to something using one of the examples as listening to the sound in isolation will not tell you if you've got it fundamental right.

You can leave the analysis open in the back ground while you test so you can go back and make minor adjustments if needed. Also it is worth trying the auto plot to see if it does a good job.

hope this helps

Pete
