![]() ![]() ![]() I discovered MultifileDiskPlayer today: wonderful possibilities! Just wanted to share some observations: In the Index-Field it is not possible to use Integer numbers; only event-values; i tried it with 0 and 1 to test it and got an error-message. When I connect it to midivoice (the whole thing polyphon mmhhh) and put polyphony too high, Kyma crashes and I even have to restart the computer. Pieter IP: Logged

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks Pieter. I added a check to allow integers to be used in the Index field for the next update. IP: Logged

I've been playing around with the multifile disk player and am attaching an example that shows some useful things I've been able to do. Maybe you've already come up with solutions for some of these things. First, I have buttons that can be used to increment and decrement through the files. I have a global controller that shows where in the current file the playback position is. I have set up some of the files so that they loop, while others don't (and the playback position global controller as well). There's also a !PlaybackRate controller that works for some of the soundfiles and not for others, as you might want to vary the speed of some but not all. I have also set it up so that the increment and decrement buttons don't work unless the file has played 90% of the way through the file - you could easily change so that the entire file has to play through before you can change files. Often in performance I find it useful to protect against accidentally changing files in the middle. [you might find this confusing at first, since the inc/dec buttons won't work unless the file is near the end - on short files you have to be careful to click them in the short window where they work] I've put this sound in my prototypes bar, since I find it useful. best, [This message has been edited by Phi Curtis (edited 08 February 2008).] IP: Logged |
