Hello All,

This might be a stupid question, me being a beginner on the Kyma and all, but I still have to ask- since I haven´t found any related info on this in either the manual or here in the Forum.

Here it comes: How do I save a template for how I want Kyma's windows to be arranged? You know, like an autolad in Logic or Cubase. I´ve found the untitled.kyc file in the KYMA folder, but I have found no way of saving such a file. The Launcher saves nothing when used. I know I´m missing
something basic here.

Thanks!

Magnus

Kyma automatically remembers the positions of the open windows when you quit the program.

Also, it remembers the size and location of the Virtual Control Surface for each Sound that you have played. And it remembers which folders are opened in the Sound Browser.

This information is saved in the Kyma Preferences (kyma.pre on Windows). The .kyc file is a compiled Sound that can only be played from the File menu or the Sound Browser.

Well, I´ve got a two screen setup under Windows ME- a laptop and an extra screen, and KYMA remembers nothing of what have been placed on that extra screen.

Hi Magnus,

This may be a blessing in disguise. If you’ve ever taken your computer to a live gig and decided to leave the extra screen at home, and then had to try to click randomly in a non existent screen in an attempt to drag the important windows back main screen , you might think differently.

Maybe PC users don’t have this problem as much as us Mac people?

This is something that will be fixed in a future update. For the time being, there is not full support for multiple monitors.

Ok, thanks SSC, I suspected thus. And Pete, I know exactly what you´re talking about. I used to be totally Mac-based and using multiple monitors under MacOS I thought was very simple- until you do exactly what you described. Horrible! I don´t know the scenario under ME since I just switched platform. I´ll be back on this.

Cheers!

Magnus
