![]() ![]() ![]() Great idea, price is right for a controller, sounds generated are mind-bending (demos), nice pdf templates. Need to get a newer Intuos3 to use with Kyma now :-) I do have an older Graphire Wacom tablet that goes a little crazy whenever Kyma is open, though (even if Kyma is in the background or hidden). The most noticeable symptom is that any movement of the pen or mouse triggers Expose (Mac OS X) to shrink all windows, which normally I have assigned to the right upper corner. Once again, I don't have version 3 of either Graphire nor Intuos, just the first generation. Should this be happening? Question: is there any additional documentation ref. tablet use in Kyma? I downloaded the release notes, so maybe that is it for now. Can I assume that the pen status window is available from ??? menu (cannot find it right now in Kyma) once an Intuos3 or Graphire3 tablet has been installed (drivers) and connected? Thx. ![]() ![]() ![]() Have you downloaded the latest tablet drivers (4.79-2) from Wacom's web site? It could be something they have fixed in that version of the driver.. There is some documentation on using the pen in the topic "How do I use a Wacom tablet with Kyma?" in the How section of the kyma*tweaky. (Note that you have to log in to the tweaky before you can access either the How or Know sections.) IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Many thanks. I'll check the drivers, and the documentation you mentioned above for the newer tablets. Eduardo Martinez IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() The tablet controll is amazing - I love the gestural control - this is the kind of control I have been trying to get using the Motormix with limited sucess - I am very happy... I do have a question though - If I am using the presetInterpolation, I would also like to have access the control inputs from the MotorMix as if the Wacom was not connected - this would allow me to move between presets and then still access some specific variables at moments in the performance when I know they will make a sound I want - this is how I have combined the presets and variable access before and I would like to combine the MotorMix access and the Tablet access - I tried changing the MIDI channel on the Wacom setup, but seemd to loose the Wacom altogether when I did that - any suggestions?? Awsome awsome Awsome!!! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() When you use InterpolatePresets or PresetSpace, the interpolation parameter controls all of the hot values in the original Sound. You can choose to have some of the hot values be independent of the InterpolatePresets Sound: play the original Sound, and, in the VCS, Control+Click on the fader you want to make independent. Choose the option from the pop up menu that makes the fader unaffected by presets. The next time you play the Sound, the InterpolatePresets will control all of the hot values except for the fader(s) that you made independent. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the reply - being able to isolate a fader is great, but when one uses presetInterpolate, the fadeers on the MotorMix disapear as they are controlled from the single pen coordinate. It would be great if we could have then pen controll the interpolation, but have the usual VCS so that we could then interact with elements of the interpolated state from the MotorMix. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() What if you were to add deviation controls to each hot value, for example: !Density + !DenDev Exclude the deviation controls from the presets. (Ctrl+Click on the control name in the VCS and select "Affected by presets>No" from the menu.) That way, you could make deviations in a preset value. This approach has the additional advantage that an adjusted fader would not jump to its preset value when you moved to a new preset. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, great, I'll try this. I think it might be useful though to have control from both the tablet and the MotorMix - I take your point about the fader moving to the preset position when interpolating presets, but that would be acceptable - to then be able to play specific faders within the preset state would be great. ![]() ![]() ![]() Returning to the beginning of this thread about using an older Graphire tablet (as a pointing device, noy sound control), I still have the same problem as before, even after updating the tablet drivers. The only solution I found is to disable Exposé's window shrinking feature, in the Mac OS X Preferences. Otherwise the movement of the pen on the tablet to control cursor movements constantly triggers all windows to shrink and become visible. Eduardo IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() The Wacom tablet stuff is really amazing, great job! We just bought one at the Institute of Sonology, and we're really excited about its potential. I've recently experienced some problems with it though. It was working fine before, but when I tried it yesterday I couldn't get it to work properly, the pen would always control the cursor even though I had the preferences set to sound. I've update to 6.13, and also updated the driver from wacom, but it still doesn't work. Is anybody else having similar problems? I'm running Mac OS 10.37. Also, are there any plans to implements the ribbon in the tablet and the other buttons? I think the wheel in the airbrush pen could be a very interesting option. IP: Logged |
