i tagged this on the end of the recent topic posted by Garth Paine... I was still hoping for a response...

Also, whilst we're on it -

What we be much better for live performance using the timeline, would be that the Layer relevant to the Sound that you want to control is selected automatically.

What I mean is, I have say 5 programs that I would like quick access to during a show - the quickest way to jump from program to program (sound to sound) is via the Timeline, using WaitUntil and jumping to next marker using program change - but I need to be able to see the VCS layout of the active sound only and also selects only its presets via PrCh, without letting go of my guitar and selecting the relevant layer by hand ... Is there already a way of doing this ( i am new to timeline ) or can it be implemented?

There's not a way to do this currently. Will look into whether we could associate a Marker with a VCS layer...

The possibility of changing pages in the VCS with timeline markers, or by sending MIDI messages from an external controller has already been mentioned in the past. As somebody who uses the timeline a lot for live performance, I agree that this would be a very useful feature to have, especially when trying to control Kyma while playng an instrument, as in Cristian's case. Maybe another good option could be to have a dedicated Kyma Sound (just like the WaitUntil for stopping time) that would make the VCS jump to the page or layer specified in its blue parameter field. This way it would also be easy to control it with MIDI, and could be used outside the timeline as well. I would love to see something like that implemented in a future Kyma release!

Best,

Hector

Yeah, something like SelectableLayout or SelectableVcsLayer :-)
