Author | Topic: Opening Mac sounds on a PC |

![]() ![]() ![]() At home I've created sounds on my G4 to place on the beater PC I purchased for live performance; however, the sound browser will not even see the sounds I created (all boxes are checked to be safe). I can not use the "Open" menu item item either for the same reason. The AIFF files play fine -the AIFF files are referenced by the sounds. I transported to my rehearsal space on an ISO 9660 CD. I tried using the "open with" option in windows but Kyma complained (I'm at work and didn't write down the response but will append later). I did append .aif on the AIFF files but appended no extension on the "sound" files. Still I'd expect it to open with the "open with" option. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() did you try to append a ".kym" to the "sound"-files? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Mathis is correct. On the PC, Kyma knows the type of the file by the 3 letter extension, so you have to name your files with that in mind. (.kym for soundfilewindow, .aif for samples files, .spc for spectra, .ktl for Kyma Timeline) IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks. I think I've now used up all my "duh" questions and will now proceed with more interesting and challenging ones...... IP: Logged |
