![]() ![]() ![]() I've built a performance environment in Kyma that responds to a Wacom tablet. I would like to record my 'performances' of that environment in realtime. I've tried out both the DiskRecorder sound and the 'Record to disk' option in the Action menu... Unfortunately, both methods are causing my environment to respond very slowly/sluggishly to my Wacom performance (which makes it impossible to perform accurately). The VCS faders don't update properly either. This only happens when I'm in record mode, otherwise the updates are smooth. Is there another method that I could implement??? I'd like to record about 12 minutes... Thanks in advance... Jack IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Are you using AV/C and if so, how channels are in use in your environment? Are there other programs running in the background at the same time? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I am using the AVC, but not in this environment. Ableton Live is running in the background, using another audio interface, sending audio to the Capy via S/PDIF. I have 2.5GB Ram. Everything works fine until the DiskRecorder - that's where it goes pear-shaped. Thanks! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I tried it just now (Action>Record to disk on an Oscillator controlled by the pen) and that configuration did not feel sluggish. I wonder whether Ableton might be chewing up enough CPU time (or disk bandwidth?) that it is not leaving Kyma enough time to record to disk and update the Wacom controls? Have you tried recording without Ableton in the background just to see whether it makes a difference? You *may* need to use another computer or external recorder to have everything running at the same time. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks, I tried it without Ableton running in the background and the same thing happens. The patch works fine up until the DiskRecorder. Funny thing is that when I run the patch through the DiskRecorder, even when it's not actually recording (using the gated option), the same sluggishness occurs - about one to three seconds behind (depending on how much pen data is arriving). Also, the DSP window updates very intermittently/jerkily (despite the fact that the DSPs are barely registering usage). Works perfectly just before the DiskRecorder though... I'm going to take your advice and use an external recorder. Perhaps I could email you the sound anyway to see whether the same thing happens your end? I've actually been working on it on and off for a few weeks now and I think it would be a valuable addition to the Kyma Tweaky. There's nothing quite like it (that I've found so far) in the Kyma library. Let me know : ) Jack IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, please email it to us so we can figure out what is slowing it down. Thanks! IP: Logged |
