Well, I'm on the top floor here, and it is an unusually warm day in San Francisco. I'd estimate that it must be 90 or so up here today. I glanced over at the Pacarana and it said "Current temperature is 69. Maximum is 70". That scared me and I shut it off.

Any more info on this?

If it is really that hot in your room, it might be a good idea to position a fan to blow across the top of the Pacarana (and across yourself too, come to think of it!) Also, ensure that there is unrestricted air flow around the back and top of the case.

If you get another message like this, please send us email or call.

Just checked wunderground.com and it was actually 95 at the SF airport and 96 downtown (~36C), so your room may be even hotter than you thought. Macintoshes are only rated to 95 degrees ambient temperature so it might be a good idea to go catch a movie in an air conditioned theatre until it cools off a little.

hah - you're probably right. It sure felt hellish in here. It only gets like this a few times a year.

I just looked at myself in the mirror, and that same message was blinking on my forehead...

The other workaround is to move to the UK... We never get that error message here!

(sorry, couldn't resist that one!)
