![]() ![]() ![]() Is there any way to use one sample to FM another? You could obviously do this by making a sample be the modulator of an oscillator and load a sample into the wavetable, but I believe the wavetable is only around 4096 samples or something like that. Is there any way to do this with both samples being any length? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() You could try using a Waveshaper with the carrier sample as its shaping function. The input to the Waveshaper should be an Oscillator or FunctionGenerator on a FullRamp waveform added to the modulator sample. This will do phase modulation. The period of the FunctionGenerator will set the frequency of the carrier and the amplitude of the modulation sample will be related to the modulation index. FM and PM result in an infinite number of sidebands for each combination of carrier and modulator harmonics, so the result is likely to sound very close to noise for all but the very smallest modulation index values. ![]() ![]() ![]() I tried your suggestion and it works... Thanks However, whenever I load a stereo sample into the Waveshaper it plays back at half speed and only plays for half the duration of the length of the file. Mono samples play as expected. Is there anyway around this? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() You have to split the stereo file into two files: Left and Right and process them in independent Waveshapers. IP: Logged |
